London Fashion Week Presentation AW18
The esteemed Hotel Café Royal was the location of our Autumn/Winter 2018 presentation during the manic Monday of London Fashion Week. The gold and gilded Pompadour Room was the backdrop to a series of stark white sets inspired by Nick Wappington’s Living Room series.
The Early Netherlandish painters, especially the works of Jan van Eyck were the starting point for the collection. Rich and regal tones sit alongside tactile jacquards, opulent prints and luxurious embellishments to set a decadent mood.
Contrasting with the often docile and meek female characters in van Eyck’s paintings, the silouttes were inspired by the bold and forward-thinking 1920s haute couture shapes, puffball sleeves and cuts away from the body. The focus was on empowering women to dress for themselves and their love of fashion.
With a nod to Breakfast at Tiffany’s Holly Golightly, Powney’s Mother of Pearl girl is a true fashion devotee with a magpie-like infatuation that borders on addiction. Fashion is an art, a priority.
The presentation featured pieces from our newly launched No Frills, sustainable collection and upcoming sustainably focused debut evening capsule.

At the end of the presentation the ornate doors were flung open and rails appeared, enabling guests to shop the collection straight from the presentation. The term "see now, buy now" has never been more appropriate.
