We care deeply about the lives of people involved in the production of our garments - without them there would be no MOP! We have worked hard to trace our supply chain (read more about our sustainability journey) and work very closely with our factories and suppliers, visiting them regularly and getting to know the people that make our clothes. MANUFACTURERS

AHD textil, Portugal

Located in Barcelos, along a traditional pilgrimage route outside of Porto, is AHD Textil - where our jersey styles are made. Surrounded by green hills, in an area famous for its market and its food - it's no wonder the MOP team love to visit! We work closely with co-owner Paula, who is passionate about sustainability and believes strongly in our MOP ethos.

AHD Textil is GOTS-certified for its use of organic cotton and socially responsible manufacturing. AHD Textil also believes in the importance of a work-life balance for everyone and the wellbeing of their team is a top priority - with a gym and yoga classes planned for their new premises.

To make our jersey styles, AHD Textil works with a local fabric supplier, Familitex, keeping the production footprint small.

Serant Unipessoal, Portugal

Serant Unipessoal is a small, family run manufacturer in Portugal, which will soon be moving into a larger premises as their business grows. It is run by Raquel and her husband, who work closely with their team of machinists on small scale production. Raquel welcomes the MOP team to Portugal each season to work together on the production and quality control of our collections.

Tailertex, Portugal

Our denim and woven supplier Tailertex is a sister company to our GOTS certified fabric supplier 6 Dias, which was founded in 2006 and continues to be run by father and daughter team Carlos and Patricia Dias. Tailertex aligns ethically and sustainably with our mission; employees are paid a living wage as confirmed by our recent SMETA audit, and they also employ a sustainability manager to oversee their ethical process.

Paolo de Oliveira, Portugal

Our tailoring fabric is produced in Portugal at family-run Paolo de Oliveira. Founded in Covilhã in 1936, Paolo de Oliveira has a long connection to the region's wool manufacturing industry. Situated on the hillside of the highest mountain in Portugal, Covilhã's abundant green grass provided a haven for sheep, and the wool textile industry grew as a result.

Paolo de Oliveira offers vertical production from fibre to fabric, under the same roof, including spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing, and is OEKO-TEX certified. With a strong emphasis on sustainability, Paolo de Oliveira believes in responsible management and recognises the impact it has on the region. Most of the energy it uses comes from its own solar panels, it reuses water consumed and treats all industrial effluents and waste responsibly.

Fei Wha Fashion, China

We currently produce our knitwear in a really small unit in China, which sources its yarn from UPW mill. UPW aims to provide a transparent supply chain, and supplies certified responsible animal fibres and recycled yarns traced back as far as the collection and recycling processes.

Tailoring Fabric

Origin of Raw Materials

We work closely with our partner mills to try and trace back to the origin of the raw material itself (for example, the origin of the cotton field or forest), and always ask for certificates of origin.

When you see the 'Fibre to Final' attribute, this means we can trace the fibre back to its origin and we have the certification from the mill. When you see 'Fabric to Final', this means that we have certification for the finished fabric (for example, GOTS certified organic cotton).
