We want to be transparent, and we expect this from our suppliers and subcontractors as well as ensuring that they comply with the fundamental conventions of the Labour Organisation (ILO) and they are aligned with other industry standards.

Modern Slavery / Forced Labour

Suppliers shall confirm that there is no use of forced labour, including prison labour, indentured labour, bonded labour and any other forms of forced labour of modern slavery.

Child Labour

Suppliers will ensure that no person under the age of 15 is employed. In cases where local legislation stipulates a higher minimum age, this higher limit will apply. No young workers, between the ages of 16-18 shall work during night hours or in any hazardous conditions.

Freedom Of Association & Collective Bargaining

Suppliers shall respect workers’ rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining. Workers shall have the right to establish and join collectives and organisations and any such collective organisation shall have the right to affiliate with international organisations of workers without fear of harassment or reprisals.

Discrimination

Suppliers shall not discriminate against any workers based on gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, age, nationality, marital status, disability, union membership or political affiliation or any other reason. Suppliers must show equal opportunities, in relation to treatment, pay, promotion and benefits between female and male employees.

Environment

Suppliers are expected to apply responsible measures ensuring that they comply with all local environmental regulations and there shall be no release of hazardous materials or toxic substances. All local laws relating to the management of water and the management of wastewater shall be adhered to.

Health & Safety

Suppliers will provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employees and ensure that adequate steps to prevent accidents and injuries are in place. Health and Safety training will be given to all employees upon commencement and at regular intervals.

Compensation

Suppliers shall guarantee that all workers are paid a salary that is at least the minimum working wage in any given country.

Working Hours / Contracts

Suppliers will ensue that working hours do not exceed those allowed by local laws and any overtime working is done voluntarily and if declined will not be subject to any form of reprisal.

Abuse

All workers will be treated with respect and not be subjected to any form of abuse including physical or verbal intimidation or violence of any kind.

Anti-Bribery & Corruption

Mother of Pearl has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of bribery and corruption. We are always committed to act professionally and with integrity and expect all suppliers to act accordingly.

Animal Welfare

Suppliers must ensure that they are committed to cruelty free practices, no animal testing is carried out and all national and international animal welfare regulations are adhered to.

Mother of Pearl does not use any of the following animal products:
Mulesed Wool, Ivory, Fur, Exotic Skins, Feathers, Angora wool, Mohair Down, Leather
